Learn about pathologies we treat
From bunions and hammertoes to complex ankle reconstructions, our physicians can help you maintain your active lifestyle.
Painful bunion?
A bunion is often recognized by a bony bump at the base of your big toe however, the underlying issue is more complex than just a growth.
Hallux valgus is the medical term for this condition, which occurs when the joint at the base of your big toe becomes misaligned.
This misalignment causes your big toe to tilt towards your other toes, pushing the joint outward and forming the visible bunion.
Unfortunately, hallux valgus is a progressive condition that may worsen over time.
