About Dr. Kramer

Born and raised in Holt, Michigan, Dr. Zach Kramer was active with his participation in competitive travel basketball throughout high school. His passion for athletics and an interest in anatomy, physiology and body mechanics transitioned to his education at Michigan State University where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. Throughout his undergraduate training, Dr. Kramer was fortunate to provide medical coverage for the NCAA Michigan State University football, men’s basketball and the cross-country/track & field teams.

After completion of his bachelor’s degree, Dr. Kramer continued working as a certified athletic trainer for Gatorade, MSU men’s basketball and cross country/track & field teams and the Detroit Pistons. It was at this point his interest in the specialization of foot and ankle pathology developed. 

Dr. Kramer continued his education at the California School of Podiatric Medicine in Oakland, CA., receiving his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree. His interest in sports injury management continued where he volunteered with Special Olympics providing biomechanical assessment to participating athletes. 

Upon graduation, Dr. Kramer attended residency at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas receiving surgical training in foot and ankle pathology. Through his residency training he has worked closely with Dr. Carriero, sharing their common interest in sports medicine and ensuring high quality patient care.

Dr. Kramer specializes in the treatment of athletic/overuse conditions, degenerative/arthritic pathologies, and traumatic injuries. It is his goal to treat patients with the utmost compassion, respect and sincerity. Born and raised in a small town, Dr. Kramer’s objective is to maintain personalized healthcare and develop lasting professional relationships with his patients.
