Dr. Zachary Kramer, originally from Holt, Michigan, developed a keen interest in sports and human physiology during his high school years, where he actively participated in competitive travel basketball. This passion led him to Michigan State University, here he earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training.
Dr. Kramer gained hands-on experience by providing medical support to various NCAA teams including football, men’s basketball, and cross-country/track & field. Post-graduation, while working as an athletic trainer with Gatorade, Michigan State University teams, and the Detroit Pistons, Dr. Kramer’s focus shifted towards foot and ankle injuries, sparking his interest in podiatric medicine.
He pursued this interest at the California School of Podiatric Medicine in Oakland, California where he earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree. His commitment to sports medicine continued through volunteer work with Special Olympics, focusing on biomechanical assessments for athletes.
Dr. Kramer completed his residency at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas, enhancing his surgical skills in foot and ankle pathology under the mentorship of Dr. Carriero, with whom he shares a dedication to sports medicine and patient care excellence.
