Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a type of “autologous blood therapy” that harnesses a patient’s own blood components to facilitate healing in injured tissues.

When an injury occurs, the body automatically mobilizes platelets and white blood cells to kickstart the healing process. These platelets are rich in various growth factors, which are released in response to signals from the damaged tissue.

Thanks to advancements in technology, we can now concentrate these platelets and white blood cells from your blood and inject them directly into the affected area. This targeted approach enhances the body’s natural healing response.

As a result, PRP treatment can potentially speed up the recovery process and improve the restoration of the tissue, helping it return to a healthy state more effectively.
